The Macon County School System Board of Education honored two dedicated retirees during the regular board meeting held on May 12, 2026.
Recognized for their years of faithful service were:
Elizabeth “Renee” Collier, Teacher at
Macon County Elementary School
— 40 years of service
Israel Vazquez, Migrant Education Interventionist at
Macon County Elementary School
— 18 years of service
The Board expressed its appreciation for the lasting impact both educators have made on the students, families, and community of Macon County through their dedication and commitment to education.
