Coach Risper

The Macon County School System (MCSS) is proud to announce the appointment of Coach Sheddrick “Spoon” Risper as the new Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Macon County High School. The Macon County Board of Education approved the appointment at its regularly scheduled meeting on February 10, 2026.

Coach Risper brings more than 28 years of experience in high school athletics, including 16 years as Head Football Coach at Westside High School, where he established himself as one of the longest-tenured and most respected coaches in the state. Risper Resume His career is highlighted by numerous honors, region championships, playoff appearances, and the successful placement of more than 100 student-athletes on college scholarships. Beyond wins and accolades, Coach Risper is widely known for his commitment to character, discipline, and faith-based leadership. In his professional statement, he emphasizes using athletics to develop responsible young men through accountability, humility, and strong values. His dedication to student growth—both on and off the field—aligns closely with MCSS’s mission of preparing students for lifelong success.
