Roberts Board

The Macon County Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Johnathan Roberts as the new Superintendent of Macon County Schools. Dr. Roberts brings nearly two decades of dedicated service in education, with a strong background in instructional leadership, student support, and district-level administration.

Throughout his career, Dr. Roberts has served in various roles, including special education teacher, assistant principal, exceptional student education director, and most recently, Deputy Superintendent of Lamar County Schools. His leadership has focused on servant leadership, data-driven decision making, and fostering student-centered environments where all children can thrive. Dr. Roberts is also a graduate of Georgia’s Premier Superintendent Professional Development Program, preparing him to guide Macon County Schools into the future.

The Board is confident that Dr. Roberts’ commitment to academic excellence, equity, and collaboration will benefit students, staff, families, and the broader community. His vision aligns with the district’s mission of ensuring that every student has the opportunity and support needed to succeed.
