Macon County School System is proud to announce that Laiyah Worthy, a 4th grade student at Macon County Elementary School, has been named the State of Georgia winner in the 4th Grade Division of the Young Georgia Authors Contest. Prior to earning the state title, Laiyah also earned 1st Place in the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA competition.
Her award-winning essay, “The Seat That Shook a Nation,” showcased exceptional creativity, insight, and outstanding writing ability. This remarkable achievement reflects Laiyah’s hard work and talent, and we are incredibly proud of the way she represented Macon County Elementary School and the Macon County School System with excellence.
