Our vision is that students and staff in our schools will be able to acquire the knowledge and skills to effectively utilize a technology-enhanced learning environment to maximize the teaching/learning process in every classroom. We believe that students and staff must realize that the search for knowledge and the acquisition of new skills are critical life- long processes necessary in order to be successful, contributing members in our ever changing, information-driven, global society. Technology in a 21st century learning environment will be the vehicle for accomplishing the otherwise impossible for our teachers and students. Just as technology has changed countless aspects of business, industry, and what goes on in our everyday lives, we expect that it should and will change the methods, rate, and scope of how young people are educated in the Macon County School System.
Our system is a haven for the latest technology with the awards of grant funds and the use of local funds. All of our students have access to Promethean boards, laptops, student response systems, digital books, and graphing calculators. Each school has a computer lab. The middle and elementary schools have at least ten laptops in each classroom. Our technology integration coach works with teachers to ensure successful technology integration in classroom instruction.
